A treasured heirloom dating back to 1906, Bunker Hill is a classic Chinese peony celebrated for its lush, fully double blooms and steadfast garden performance. More than a century after its introduction, this enduring variety continues to charm gardeners with its romantic coloring and reliable flowering habit.

Its large, richly layered blossoms open in shades of rose-red to deep rose-pink, delicately accented with a soft, silvery-white edging along the petals. This subtle contrast gives each bloom a luminous, almost frosted appearance. Flowering in early to mid-season (May to June), Bunker Hill delivers a graceful yet vibrant display that stands out in borders and cutting gardens alike.

Lightly to moderately fragrant, the blooms carry a sweet scent that enhances their appeal in both the garden and floral arrangements. Strong, sturdy stems typically support the flowers without the need for staking, while glossy, dark green foliage remains attractive throughout the growing season.
